Have special holiday hours?

Some customers may Google your business and because the holiday may fall on a day that you are normally open, if you do not change it, it will show as OPEN, which can lead to a bad experience for your customers.

Why it is important to update your Google Business from time to time (not just for holiday hours)?

1. Improved Search Visibility & SEO 🔎

   • Google is all the time making changes and updates. This can sometimes impact what you have out there and can results in missing or inacurate information.

   • Having an updated Google Business profile can lead to better search visibility, more engagements from potential customers, and can lead to Google showing favor to you over others businesses with less visibility

2. Good User Experience 👍

   • Google wants their users to have a good experience. If they search for something and it is not accurate or out of date, that leads to a 'bad user experience'. When this happens with your business, it can negatively impact your search ranking. And if your information is out of date, Google knows that if they show your information, it could lead to a bad experience.

   • If someone Googles your business and it appears that you are open, they call or comes to your location and then find out you are closed, that is no bueno. This can also lead to someone blasting you with a negative review. 👎

Here is how to update your Google Business accounts for Holiday Hours:

• Go to google.com -> Google your business (you must be logged into Google to make changes)

• Click 'Edit Profile' under the GMB location

• Choose 'Hours' ->Scroll to 'Business Hours' -> look for Holiday Hours ->Click to edit 'Holiday Hours' ->check closed or regular business hours

• To add additional days that you are closed around the holiday, select 'Add a Data' below holiday hours

• CLICK SAVE ->THEN CLICK CONFIRM (blue button) IF it asks

  NOW your customers will see that you are open or closed specifically when they Google you on those days.

• Go ahead and update it for the rest of the year!
