What is A2P 10DLC?

Per Twilio, A2P 10DLC is a system whereby every phone number that is sending SMS Text messages are supposed to be registered to the company that is using it. Effective September 1, 2023, phone carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile and the like, will begin blocking many if not all SMS Text messages that aren't registered and/ or charging much higher text rates.

I said that it is supposed to cut down on SPAM but likely, many SPAMMERS will find ways around this. Especially since I have continued to receive Spam texts and calls (not complaining).

So I said remains to be seen, because we do not know the long term impact this will have on spammers.

How to get approved

One easy way to get approved, is to work with Reverb. We have a proven system that get's our clients up, running and approved.

One key is having a proper opt out, initial messages, information on your website and much more. Having this set up right will get you approved. Having the wrong information, can cause a number and campaign to get rejected, causing headches and problems.

Twillio gives some standard best practices but even then there are some points that still don't fly and minor details. The main reason businesses get rejected is that their business information doesn't match. The best way to tell is to look at a CP 575 form that was sent when the business received its EIN number. Use this information when submitting even if it is a little different from your current information is. i.e. address or full business name, etc.

Next to ensure that you have a proper opt out listed.

You also want to ensure that the campaign is clearly defined about the SMS Text campaigns are going to be sending.

Clearly A2P is not going away so it is important to get approval.
